UTC CELEBRATES OPENING OF NEW SANGRE GRANDE INVESTMENT CENTRE

Renewed Commitment to Community, Innovation, and Service

Sangre Grande, April 24, 2025 – The Unit Trust Corporation (UTC) officially opened its newly relocated Sangre Grande Investment Centre at Unit 2, Xtra Plaza, Eastern Main Road, Guaico, Sangre Grande, on Tuesday, April 23, reinforcing its commitment to delivering modern financial services.

The new location offers a contemporary customer experience, along with improved accessibility, including ample parking. This relocation reflects UTC’s ongoing mission to strengthen client relationships and enhance service delivery for unitholders throughout the community, with client needs as the central focus.

Nigel Edwards, Executive Director of UTC, emphasised the Corporation’s strong connection to the Sangre Grande community. “As we open our new doors in Sangre Grande, we are doing so at a very dynamic point in the history of the UTC. We are aggressively expanding our reach, and we have been breaking ground throughout the Caribbean; first in Jamaica and then throughout the Eastern Caribbean, in Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and Grenada so far, with others to come. To be clear, though, our expansion thrust is more than simply geographic, but it is an intent to expand what many Trinbagonians take for granted in the very existence and accessibility of UTC. And that is the creation of a culture of wealth creation, a culture of investment for all, not only those who think they can afford it, but for everyone.”

In further addressing the growth of the UTC over its 42-year existence, Edwards said, “When we opened our Sangre Grande operations, we managed $13.25B for customers in Trinidad and Tobago. Today, we manage $24.6 billion.”

Sharon St Clair Douglas, Head of Investment Centres, encouraged unitholders to embrace the new location, stating, “This move is so much more than simply a change of address. It symbolises our ongoing promise to provide you, our valued customers, with an even better experience. We want you to feel at home here because taking care of our communities is at the heart of what we do. That means working together to grow your wealth.”
