If I want to make a withdrawal from abroad, what do I need to do?
To request funds from your account, you should submit a notarised letter along with legible copies of two valid pieces of identification (National ID card/driver’s permit/passport). A notary public must notarise all documents.
Your letter should contain the following instructions for a wire transfer to an account abroad:
- The account holder’s name and UTC account number
- The amount requested for withdrawal — please advise if the amount includes wire transfer charges
- Full name and address of the foreign bank
- Bank account number
- The ABA routing number and swift code where applicable
- A telephone contact number and e-mail address
For cheque collection by an individual in Trinidad and Tobago, your letter should also contain:
- The account holder’s name and UTC account number
- The amount requested for withdrawal
- The phrase “Please make cheque payable to (name of person)”
- A telephone contact number and e-mail address
Please note that a new letter must be issued for each transaction. Wire transfers for cross‐currency transactions cannot be facilitated from TT$ accounts.
